Wicklow Information Network:

If you want to learn IT, web and computer skills, then WIN offers you a great opportunity to do just that, in one of our SEVEN Training Centres in County Wicklow. We offer a smaller selection of courses than some other educational establishments, so that we can give our students the quality of training they deserve.

Training:
WIN provides:

WIN has Microsoft Certified Instructors and has examination centres for FETAC, ECDL, IC3 and MOS with certification options. WIN is a FÁS registered Training Organisation.

Training Courses
Basic Course:
For people with little or no computer knowledge, who wish to gain a basic working knowledge of computers in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Intermediate Course:
For people who have some basic computer skills, who wish to improve their knowledge of computers

Advanced Course:
Designed for people to become more advanced in their knowledge of computers.

Equalskills:
This course is for people with little or no computer knowledge, wishing to gain basic knowledge of computers. An Equalskills certificate certified by ICS will be awarded upon successful completion. It will acknowledge all of the achievements and the new skills that you have learned.

ECDL:
The European Computer Driving License (ECDL) is designed for people who wish to achieve a certificate, which measures the holder's Competence in using the computer. ECDL consists of seven modules. To achieve your goal of successfully completing the ECDL, you must pass a test in each of the modules at an authorised ECDL test centre.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS):
Designed for people wishing to learn or improve their skills in the MOS Modules

Desktop Publishing:
Designed for people who have some computer skills and wish to create and edit publications.

Internet & E-Mail:
Designed for people with little or no knowledge of the Internet or E-Mail, to help them access the Internet and send & receive E-mail.

Basic Web Design:
Designed for people who wish to set up and maintain web page.


Basic Children's Courses:
Designed to give children with little or no computer skills the basic skills they need, in a relaxed friendly environment.

Intermediate Children's Courses:
Designed for children who have some basic computer skills, to improve their knowledge of computers

Computer Applications (FETAC Level One):
Designed to provide an introduction to computer applications (database, spreadsheets, and computer graphics), which will enable them to use a computer in a working environment and to proceed to further modules.

Information Technology Skills(FETAC Level One):
Designed to cover basic terminology associated with computer hardware and software. It provides practical experience in data entry skill, word processing, file management and the Internet.

TAS 11 Accounting:
Designed for people with some bookeeping knowledge and who have basic competence in using a computer. It is particularly suitable for people using accounts or moving from manual to computerised accounts.

WIN/FÁS Training Courses

Wicklow Information Network in co-operation with FÁS delivers training programmes specifically designed for people looking to learn new skills or to upgrade their present skills, in order to assist in their return to the workforce.

Independent Parents Programme Newtown starting Monday 3rd November 2008

This Independent Parents Programme will assist Learners achieve a major FETAC Level 3 award within the National Qualifications Framework which facilitates progression to further learning and/or work.  On successful achievement of the learning objectives for this programme, learners can access a major FETAC Award at Level 4 or Level 5 depending on their learning needs and capabilities.
